Alliance Equestrian Center is owned and managed by Allison Whisler. While Allison has been a horse lover her entire life, she wasn't able to start riding until she was 16. She started at a local dressage and eventing barn and was lucky enough to end up at a barn that allowed her to spend lots of time daily riding and training project horses. This allowed her to learn quickly and progress faster in her riding. She spent years learning as much as she could about the horse world. She went to Ball State University and earned her degree in elementary education, though the 5 years she spent teaching she taught special education in middle school.
In 2014 her trainer retired and her and her friends changed barns. She was able to start training and teaching lessons at the barn which teaching full time. In 2015 she was able to leave her career as a school teacher to pursue a horse career full time and in 2017 she was able to build her own facility with the help of Ean Taylor.
Allison trains, teaches, and coaches riders in english and western dressage. She has also recently discovered the amazing discipline of Liberty training. She is an ILHA carded judge and has enjoyed not only competing in, but judging Liberty competitions.
Grace Thomas started helping Allison around the barn as a volunteer shortly after she started taking lessons off Allison. She was able to not only learn the inner workings of the barn, but was able to spend extra time in the saddle. Grace became the full time poop-scooper extraordinaire in 2019. She is also the assistant trainer and helps start young horses and work project ponies at the barn.
